If you are building an itinerary to Andamans, you will notice how most days start early morning, sometimes as early as 5 AM. You might also have heard that when it comes to nightlife, Andamans is not a place to be. In Fact, most of the town retires after sunset.

While all that is true, Andaman still has a unique night culture that not many know of. Of course, it can never be Ibiza or even its half, and even the thought of this comparison is extreme, but we’re going to give you a list that will keep you on your toes.

This is your guide to ‘Andaman Nightlife’ – some offbeat, some romantic, some quiet, some adventurous, but a list of all our favorite things to do after sunset.

Not really interested in hitting the bars or an exquisite dinner? Or thinking of a seaside walk? Or you’ve kids along? here is what we suggest:

Marina Park, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Port Blair

A walk down the seaside can be calming, energising, and fun. Head to Marina Park around 5 pm to catch the sunset and then stay there as late as you like. It’s a neat and tidy park, with an Andaman sea view. Renovated recently, it’s great for kids. Also, there are many budget eateries to satiate you (read happy belly food truck). It’s a nice place for a family outing. The Tiranga Memorial is about 1.5kms away and looks gorgeous at night – a must-visit.

Joggers Park, Near VIP Road, Port Blair

It is at one of the highest points in Port Blair. While the name suggests otherwise, a jog is not all that it offers – we love to just sit and relax on the benches. Because the views you’re going to see from there (we repeat, the views you’re going to see from there) – of the illuminated city and the lit airport runway – are going to remain with you forever. Hands down, this is a favorite spot of many.

Stargaze on the beach

This is not what everybody does/will do even after reading this. But this is the most simple and underrated thing to do for a memorable time in Andaman. With crystal clear skies dotted with a million stars, you stand a good chance of spotting many constellations you have only read about. So just pick your spot, and lie down there – and soak in the natural beauty of Andaman.

Recommendation: Vijay Nagar beach, Beach no. 5, Havelock
Note: You are only allowed to go to some beaches post-sunset, for security reasons. The ones next to your resort/hotels are most recommended. Always ask for beach timings from the security guard in charge.

Jungle Trekking

If you’re an adrenaline junkie and wish to connect with nature at the night, there is nothing like jungle trekking. But a word of caution: If you make up your mind for it, do it with an expert, who knows the forests in and out. You can write to us at info@go2andaman.com to know more.

. Scuba Diving At Night

If you’re a scuba diver, this is an experience you just cannot miss. Diving with a torch in hand at night in itself can be a ‘resume glorifying’ event, but what’s going to be memorable are the diverse varieties of marine life you shall spot down there. This is seasonal and is subject to weather conditions. You can enquire about this from established PADI Dive centres.

The Andaman Islands, like other parts of the Andaman Sea enjoy a tropical climate throughout the year. The average minimum temperature is around 23°C and it seldom goes much above 30°C.
